Application Of UV Laser Marking Machine

The Two Efficient Types of Laser Cutters

Laser cutting is primarily a thermal procedure focused on which a laser beam is used to melt an object in a localized area. A co-axial gas jet is employed to emit the molten material and make a kerf. A continuous cut is shaped by moving the laser beam or workpiece under the CNC controller. The two most efficient types of the Laser Cutters are the Fiber Lasers and CO2 Lasers.

Fiber Lasers

Fiber lasers have a high demand for industrial cleaning applications, such as the elimination of rust, oxides, paint, and other contaminants. Fiber lasers are perfect for high-contrast markings like etching, metal annealing, and engraving. They create an extremely minor focal diameter making them the best choice for permanent marking of barcodes, serial numbers, and data matrix on metals. These lasers are generally used for object traceability (direct part marking) and ID applications. The best advantage of fiber lasers is that these are maintenance-free machines and have a longer service life.

CO2 Lasers

CO2 laser marking is perfect for a wide range of non-metallic items, including plastics, acrylics, textiles, wood, glass, and even stone. They have applications in the pharmaceutical and food packaging sectors. Also, they are used for the marking of PVC pipes, electrical appliances, building materials, integrated circuits, mobile communications gadgets, and electronic components.

If you want to cut thicker materials, it is apt best to go with CO2 laser machines. The China CO2 laser machine supplier provides the highly efficient machines that can deliver quicker straight-line cutting, faster initial piercing times, and a smoother surface finishes when cutting objects above 5 mm. They offer highly accurate and precise cuttings. This Laser cutting technique is much safer than other types of cutting since it doesn’t employ any blade. The beam itself is closed in a tight little lightbox. Moreover, power consumption is always low.
